Healing Stones Glossary — inner peace

In ancient Buddhist tradition and culture, Sandalwood has been celebrated and used as the optimal meditation tool for thousands of years. It is considered a sacred plant that is respected and honored more than most in the Eastern world and is primarily grown in Southeast Asia and India.

The "Stone of Royalty," Lapis Lazuli is one of the most sought-after stones in use since man’s history began. Its deep, celestial blue remains the symbol of royalty and honor, gods and power, spirit and vision. It is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth. The golden sarcophagus of King Tutankhamen was richly inlaid with Lapis, as were other burial ornaments of Egyptian kings and queens. It was used extensively in scarabs, pendants and other jewelry, and ground into powder for dyes, eye shadow and medicinal elixirs. A stone of truth, Lapis encourages honesty of the spirit, and in the spoken and written word. It reveals inner truth, and promotes self-awareness and the acceptance of that knowledge.It is also a stone of friendship and brings harmony in relationships.

The serenity of its turquoise-blue color discharges negative energies, calms, and allows truth and inner wisdom to surface and be heard. In ancient lore, Aquamarine was believed to be the treasure of mermaids and was used by sailors as a talisman of good luck, fearlessness and protection. It was also considered a stone of eternal youth and happiness. Aquamarine encourages the ideal of service to the world and to the development of a humanity attuned to healing. It emits a gentle and compassionate energy, promoting moderation and responsibility for ones’ actions. It inspires judgmental people to be more tolerant and helps those overwhelmed by responsibility to find order. Aquamarine is a Water element stone, powerful for cleansing the emotional body and opening communication. This majestic stone ranges in color from deep purple to pale lavender, depending on the presence of manganese and iron. "The Stone of Plentitude," this gemstone is white or off-white dappled with green flecks. It is said to encourage inner peace through certainty and bring awareness of personal strengths, creating security and stability. Its metaphysical power is believed to be effective over a long period of time, thus unsuitable as a quick fix.
